Reformation | Recipe by Stephan Hinz

We asked for a cocktail recipe from Stephan Hinz, bar expert and owner of the award-winning bar Little Link in Cologne, Germany. Test yourself with this fabulous "Reformation" bourbon based!

Reformation (Little Link Bar, Cologne)

Ingredients

  • 50 ml bourbon whiskey
  • 30 ml lime juice
  • 20 ml spiced orange mix*
  • 10 ml sugar syrup

Garnish

  • dried orange

 

Preparation

Shake all ingredients with ice. Cool a tumbler with your Thrill glass chiller and fill it with ice. Double strain the drink in your glass and garnish the drink with dried orange.

*How to produce the spiced orange mix:

1. Mix 350 g bitter orange marmalade, 350 ml orange liqueur, 200 g sugar, 150 ml water, ½ chili pepper (hot) and 1 pinch of saffron.

2. Vacuumise the mix and cook it in a sous-vide machine for 35 minutes at 62 °C.

3. Shake the mix until all sugar has dissolved.

4. Filter the mix and leave to cool down.
